The world Jonas lives in may seem perfect, but the world is more than meets the eye. In the beginning of the book you may not realize how much is missing from his world, but as the book progresses you find out more and more things his world doesn't have. Some things that are necessary in our world do not exist in his world. These things are cars, TV's, war, color, and love. Some of these things like war, are great things they don't have, but in order to not have war our world would have to have no difference. So, I think when trying to make the world Jonas lives in better, they actually made it a lot worse. I think Jonas starts realizing this when he receives memories from the Giver. He realizes what he is missing out on and what their community could be like. Personally, I would not want to live in Jonas' world so I wouldn't give up anything to love where lives. I would rather live in a world with love, color, and difference. I think Jonas did the right thing by leaving his community to find Elsewhere. I also think once Jonas realized what he was missing he could never stop seeing everything he could have. So, I think that our worlds are very different, but if I lived in Jonas' world I would want to leave.

Music is an extremely big part of my life and I don’t know what I would do without it. Everyday I hear music and without it my life would be very different. One pace I hear music is on the radio and I listen to it whenever I’m in the car if I feel bored. I feel like if there was no music life would be very drab. Another thing I do everyday that involves music is dance and theater. You need music to dance most styles and music also makes dance more interesting. In theater you need music to sing to and music in he back of scenes. Music sets the mood for many activities. Personally, I like all different kinds of music and it really depends on what I feel like listening to that day. I think that Jonas’ community doesn’t have music because it is very diverse. Diversity means that everyone will not be the same. Music would break the “sameness” in the community that they have had for hundreds of years. Even though Jonas’ community doesn’t have music, don't know if I could live in a community like his.
